Alejandro Muñoz-Hernández was born in Bogota, Colombia. He was immersed in a rich, cultural environment that fostered creative growth, artistic expression, and social/political awareness.

After attending the Politécnico Grancolombiano for Audiovisual Media, he resettled in Canada and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from York University's distinguished Film and Video Production program.

He now resides and works as a cinematographer in Vancouver, Canada.
